You may now apply to enrol in one or two subjects from the Diploma of Journalism. Eligible students would benefit from a strong interest in news and current affairs. Access to a computer and internet are essential.

JR101 Introduction to reporting & newswriting
JR101 covers basic reporting and news writing and helps you develop news gathering and interviewing skills.
JR100 Shorthand
(Speed writing)
JR100 concentrates on developing skills in writing and transcribing Teeline shorthand. This is an invaluable skill for the rest of your life for accurate and quick note taking.
JR102 History, Literature & Language for Journalists:
An overview of key issues in history and the English language plus literature of note. Included in this unit is an introduction to reviewing skills, including travel, dining, music, movie and book reviews. Emphasis is on simple, direct writing.
